The Los Angeles District Attorney has recently indicated that it will be prosecuting medical marijuana dispensaries that are operating unlawfully. Persons arrested for possession and/or possession for sale of marijuana while running a dispensary do have rights and in many cases valid defenses to prevail in such criminal prosecutions. The law governing medical marijuana dispensaries can be complicated but it does favor properly run collectives that have proper licenses and procedures.
